Our Voyages are built around one rhythm: explore while the light is warm, then go somewhere truly dark.
Red rock, dirt roads and golden hour
Hike canyon country, rent an SUV and chase dirt roads out to hoodoos and slot canyons, then sit down to a sunset picnic before the stars come out. Abdul scouts the spots, so the day stays unhurried.
Camp Howdy adds a stay inside Zion. Private stargazing nights start at sunset and slide into the dark.
The darkest skies we can find
Photograph the Milky Way with Abdul, a world-renowned astrophotographer. Camera or phone, first night or fiftieth, you get hands-on coaching from beginner to advanced. Dates are set around the new moon for maximum darkness.

Answers to frequently asked questions
What is the crowd usually like? Is it good for solo travelers and couples?
A friendly mix. Solo travelers are very welcome, and with 8 to 12 guests and your own personal hosts, you are never on your own (unless you want to be!). We also host a lot of couples, from anniversary trips and wedding celebrations to couples travel in general, so you will usually find yourself in good company either way.
Do I need camera experience?
No. Our American West Voyages welcome stargazers and astrophotographers of every level, with optional hands-on coaching from beginner to advanced, on a camera or a phone.
What is the difference between Voyages and Expeditions?
Voyages are 3 to 4 day nature retreats in the American West, including stargazing and astrophotography. Expeditions are 7 to 10 day international trips focused on art, history and culture.
What do you handle for me?
The logistics: places to stay, permits and tickets, transportation, daily routes and meals. You get yourself to the meeting point and we take care of the rest.
How do I book a trip?
Open the trip page and tap Book. Checkout runs through WeTravel, which handles secure payment, and each trip page lists its deposit and payment terms. Questions first? Message us from the contact page.
Can I book a private trip for my group?
Yes. We plan private stargazing retreats for groups and private Egypt trips with a guide. Tell us your dates and group size and we send a custom quote. Group expeditions are 18 and over, so travelers who want to bring children book a private tour instead.
